At peace is the soul that has seen ruin
And found possibility;
The gray ash held not as a destroyed result of chance,
But the seed of rebirth.
Just as the phoenix in myth,
Such are those that refuse to be forgotten.
A second chance is the greatest gift
And all are welcome to it’s magic
So long as they believe.
The gravity of existence can be a chain on the wrist,
Crushing the weak in its presence–
But you are not weak.
You are a glorious miracle,
The posterity of millions of glorious miracles.
By the hands of the gods,
Or the breath of fate,
Or the random march of time unrelenting,
It matters not,
For you exist all the same.
Let chaos marvel at its dark deeds
And allow the shadow it builds
To dance across the desolate plains of madness unleashed,
For it is not to be your end,
But the place where you begin,
Even if again and again.
With the beating heart of an orchestra,
Rise as a crescendo.
Rise and leave behind
The wavering thoughts of that mind
Which would see you in the dirt
Questioning your own worth.
Walk into a tomorrow
Where hope reigns supreme
And the will of pure truth sees to all.
The moon, with all it’s might that does not shine alone,
Still gives, with all it has, a way for the sailor to find home;
And when the sea is dark
And the waves are high,
And the ship falls from side to side,
The sails will still rise
And the drums of persistence will call forward the lost.
In you they will see
What they too might be–
The lucky, that have lived and learned
In the fires that have burned;
The lucky that have now a path,
And though it might not last
With whatever comes to pass,
There too you will be–
The guiding star of the lucky.
